Happy Birthday Dustin!

Today is my sweet husband's birthday! While I have probably told you all several times how much I love him, you get to hear it again on his birthday.

For those that don't know our story, Dustin and I technically had our first meeting my freshmen year and his sophomore year at Tech. He was a Sig Ep, and I was... well, I was about how groupie as you get. I went to everything. Parties, football games, softball games, happy hours, house parties. I was at it all. I even remember going to Dustin's house once because I was friend's with his roommate. I don't remember, however, ever talking to him.

Fast forward four years, I had just updated my Facebook status saying that I was back in Coppell at my parents' house. Dustin was living in Coppell at the time, and commented on my status that he didn't know anyone knew where it was. After happy hours, one crazy ex-girlfriend, a six month break up, several concerts, movies, and Texas Tech games we got married.

I don't know if I could be any luckier. He has been there for me so much over the past four years. He has been such an amazing man. He takes care of me and looks out for me. Most importantly, he puts up with my crazy antics and mood swings. He brings me out of my funk when I am stressed or depressed. Dustin could make me laugh for days.

I love you babe! Have a wonderful birthday!

Happy Birthday Annie!

Today is one of my very, very best friend's birthday Annie!

Annie is one of my pledge sisters from Theta and was one of my bridesmaids. We met when we went to a pre-party for the 80s Prom that our sorority was having. We were pretty much inseparable after that. Annie and I's friendship worked great. I never had any money to go anywhere and she didn't have a car. Therefore, I drove and she paid. Not speaking for a while in college and building back up our friendship, is what makes her so special to me. We both decided that we valued each other enough that we wanted to make our friendship work. We worked out our problems, and I don't know what I would do without her now. Annie and I have a way of just looking at each other and laughing. A car ride with us can be quite deadly with our laughing and the fact that neither of us is very good at driving. We have numerous inside jokes and love to dance. If there is a dance floor with boy band music or anything from the 90s you can be sure that you will see us out there boppin' around with our hands in the air! Dance parties = Story of our lives. Seriously, we live for them.  Annie is always down to have queso, chips, and margs (which is the main reason she is my best friend)

Annie has one of the kindest hearts that I know. She is an extremely loyal friend that will do anything for you. She can make me laugh whenever I am needing it. Annie would go out of her way for anybody and she is one of the strongest people I know. Even when things aren't going so great for her, she will always put others first. She is a great listener. She is also completely understanding. Her birthday is two days before Dustin, so normally I either can't make her birthday plans or have to leave early when they are the same night. She never says anything about it and always understand the situation I am in. I don't know what I would do without Annie as a friend. She is always there for a crazy text message, picture, good chat, girl's night, dinner, etc.

Happy Birthday Steph!

Today marks the birth of another of my fabulous best friends. I recently talked about Steph in my last post when she got married in Albuquerque. In that post I told you how Steph and I met and how post-graduation we lived dorm room style in my childhood bedroom.

What I didn't tell you is how fantastic of a person she is. Steph and I are complete goof balls. We love crazy sunglasses, wigs, hats, peace signs, uncomfortable situations, saying the word Uranus, river trips, fanny packs, Batman capes, and, most of all, tie dye. While I will tell you she hated me the day I officially met her because of crazy college/boy drama, she will tell you she doesn't remember that crazy Halloween night. We bonded late one night with our partner in crime, Margaret, when we developed our alter egos. Margaret was Laquisha aka Quish, Steph was Zenon aka Z, and I was Rosario. I have no idea how any of this got started, but it is one of my best memories of college. This led to the three of us trying to become Red Hat Ladies, having our own soundtrack, having a memorial to Heath Ledger, and making a cake of cheese.

Steph has a kind, sensitive heart. She cares about her friends and family more than anything and is completely loyal. She is one of those friends that has a hard time giving up when someone may not return their loyalty because of how much she values each person in her life. Steph can make anyone smile and can send the most fab text messages that can have you rolling with laughter.

As I was looking for pictures to post, I really started to miss college and Steph; so, I got super carried away this time. Enjoy!

Happy 1st Birthday Morgan!

We had a fabulous weekend! Friday we had a quiet night at home in preparation for what was to come on Saturday.

In my very first blog post I wrote about mine and Dustin's niece being born. Well, Saturday we went and celebrated her 1st birthday! I cannot believe she is already a year. It has been so much fun to watch Morgan grow, and I can't believe how quickly the time is going. She is learning to walk and can already take a few steps at a time. She is not a performer though. In front of us she would only take a few steps, but once we left that night she was pretty much making laps. She loves to make noises and give sweet kisses. She isn't quite sure what she thinks of her Aunt Taylor and Uncle Dustin yet. We don't see her very often, so it takes her a bit to warm up. We eventually came to if her and I had a sink/table between us or someone was holding her next to me she was my best friend. Any closer and it was game over! I did get 4 kisses without even asking though! I can't wait to see her again.

Dustin and I headed over to Mendy and Brent's house early Saturday and spent some time with his parents and Morgan before everyone came over. The house looked so cute! My mother-in-law has such an eye for creativity! It makes me super jealous of her. She and Mendy did a great job at putting everything together. The theme was Minnie Mouse and everything was pink and black which are two of my favorite colors. Once everyone got over we had cake and opened presents. Morgan wasn't quite sure what to do with her smash cake.

Dustin's parents stayed with the baby and we headed out for a night on the town. We love to go out with Mendy and Brent, and especially love to go out in Fort Worth. We had a great time!

Bring on the pictures!
